A Child’s Christmas Present in 1892

A nostalgic view of the daily life of children in the late 1800s is shown in these delightful illustrations published in 1892 (click on each to enlarge). It is fascinating identifying familiar objects.

  1. What a delightful little book to have. Was it yours as a child?
I think I could spend hours looking at these pages thanks for posting it.

  2. I'm not quite that old! It is a rare book held in a reference library.

I thought it might have been passed down to you as an heirloom. I have a few old books and toys that have been passed down through the generations of my family.

  4. How lucky to have your family's historic objects. What are the titles and year of publication of your books? I am curious also of the toys. There is a beautiful toy museum in Coburg Germany that is fascinating.
