Costume Ball 1903 – Servants

Archival documents counteract the prevailing negative view of Empress Alexander Feodorovna.

The Chief-Marshal’s invitation to the 1903 Ball stated “… participants in the masquerade in the costumes of the times of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich and the other guests … at the Pavilion of the Imperial Hermitage in the usual … Ladies in long dresses. Men in uniform, civilians in tails …”
The guests were not only the elite of St. Petersburg society.

Empress Alexandra invited her female servants, maids of different ranks, to attend the ball:
Frau Geringer, maids Orchard, Zanotti and Tutelberg, dressmaker Nikolaevna, maids Nikitin, Pavlova and Demidov, Englishwoman Eagar, Nanny Vishnyakova, maids Tegeleva and Ersberg.

I wonder if they are seen on Gan’s film.
