  2. It is fascinating when you think of the year 2017. Two hundred years, 1817, when Nicholas I and Empress Alexandra married and Grand Duke Ernest I & Louise (parents of Prince Albert) in Coburg. And this year will mark the 180th anniversary of the fire in the Winter Palace.

  3. I love history it is very fascinating and there is so much history in the royal families its absolutely mind boggling to me.
Two hundred years since Nicholas I and Alexandra were married and 180th anniversary of the fire, my goodness!
Sadly next year is the 100th anniversary of the deaths of Nicholas II and Alexandra, GD Olga, GD Tatiana,
GD Maria, GD Anastasia and Alexei. I've been reading about them and it was such a horrible injustice what was done to them!
As morbid as it is to ask, do you know if there is something planned to mark their deaths?

  4. I don't know what is planned but there will most likely be religious remembrances held in Ekaterinburg and Peter & Paul Fortress in St. Petersburg.

Next year is also the 150th anniversary of the birth of Nicholas II. The events of July 1918 and leading up to it will predominate among publishers, but I am hoping that new archival documents will be released to celebrate Nicholas life. It would be incredible to see online more of the family's photo albums, kamer-fuersky journals, documents relating to the household!
